What is TCFD?
The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) is an international framework developed by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) to help companies disclose climate-related financial risks and opportunities. TCFD provides structured guidelines to improve transparency in corporate climate disclosures, making businesses more resilient to environmental hazards.
Why is TCFD Important?
TCFD Disclosure Framework
TCFD provides recommendations in four key areas:
1️⃣ Governance – How climate-related risks are overseen at the board level.
2️⃣ Strategy – Impact of climate risks and opportunities on business models.
3️⃣ Risk Management – How companies identify, assess, and mitigate climate risks.
4️⃣ Metrics & Targets – Measuring carbon emissions, climate risks, and net-zero goals.
Who Reports Using TCFD?
Over 4,000+ companies across 100+ countries, including major financial institutions, report in alignment with TCFD guidelines. Many governments and stock exchanges have made TCFD disclosures mandatory for listed companies.
